Can a traditional craft have a digital twin?
DT4DP brings decorative painting into dialogue with contemporary digital technologies, creating new ways to document, present and transfer the know-how of a traditional and creative profession.
Decorative painting is built on technique, observation, materials and the skill of the hand. Much of this knowledge is learned alongside an experienced professional through demonstration and practical work.
DT4DP explores how digital environments and digital twinning can create new bridges for transferring this knowledge.

Decorative painting is a field where the final result depends on experience, precision, colour, texture and knowledge of materials.
This knowledge is deeply experiential. It develops through demonstration, observation, repetition and practice.

This physical exchange is complemented by the project’s digital dimension, allowing experiences to be documented, reused and incorporated into a wider learning ecosystem.
