Mobility programs highlight opportunities and possibilities to improve the knowledge and skills of people working or studying in the field of Vocational Education and Training. Mobility plans provide staff and students with the opportunity to engage in transnational mobility in another program country in order to study, train, work, teach, and develop professional qualifications and skills.
Through mobility schemes, beneficiaries can gain new knowledge, skills and abilities for their personal development. They can also improve their language skills, get in touch with a new culture and civilization and develop a sense of European identity. The synergy and interconnection of the structures of formal and non-formal education, vocational training, employment and entrepreneurship is also strengthened and the recognition and certification of the skills acquired in training courses abroad is promoted.

Operation: VET_COSMOS in Europe
Operation: VET_COSMOS in Europe is a VET learners mobility proposal, involving training and work placements for eight vocational fields which suffer the most from the financial crisis in Greece: Automation technicians, Elevator technicians, I.T. Software developers, I.T. Hardware developers, Tourism Assistants, Food & Beverages Controllers, Internal Decoration & Object Designers and Cooks, who need a turning point in order to give a boost in the learners employability.
The mobility involves :-10 students of the Automations Technicians field and 10 students from the Elevator technicians field who will attend a two-week practical training on their subjects area, aligned with today’s labor market needs, in Romania which is having a flourishing Electronics industry as well as a construction boom . -20 students of the IT- Computer -hardware technicians field who will complete a two-week work placement and tutoring in companies of the private sector in Romania as interns to get specialization and work experience in their field.-20 students of the IT- Software developers technicians field who will complete a two-week work placement and tutoring in companies of the IT sector in Italy as Software developers in modern s/w applications to get specialization and work experience in their field.-10 students of the Internal Decoration & Object Design field who will complete a two-week work placement in companies of the private sector in Italy as interns to get specialization and work experience in their field. The students will also attend University courses about 3D Printing.
-20 students of the Cookery field who will complete a two-week work placement in Restaurants of the private sector in France as interns to get specialization and work experience in their field. -10 students of the Food & Beverages Controllers field who will complete a two-week work placement in F & B industry sector in France as interns to get specialization and work experience in their field.-10 students of the Tourism field who will complete a two-week work placement in Travel Agencies and tourism business in France as interns to get specialization and work experience in their field. All groups will receive a cultural preparation about their host countries in order to enhance their inter-cultural and personal development and to be introduced to the new environment.
Our project’s target is to enhance our students’ employability and adaptability based on today’s market needs, to help them acquire key competencies in new technology and job-specific skills while strengthening their linguistic and inter-cultural competencies and complement their training with practical experience. Generally, inhabitants from the west suburbs of Athens are suffer from low income and are sensitive to various external factors. IEK Aigaleo embraces students of low social and financial profile helping their social re-integration with an improved personal and professional profile. Public IEK Aigaleo trains a multi-cultural mix of students, mostly adults, with low social background who did not admitted to the University but wish to have a second chance in a new career in the field of VET. The project has been divided into the preparatory, the organizational, the managerial, the implementation and the dissemination stages and all partners will contribute respectfully.
The results we wish to achieve via this mobility is to help employability, open new paths towards modern technologies and working mobility in EU. The impact will traverse the educational and the enterprise sector providing solid foundations for future integration of training programs which will benefit not only our Institute and local society, but also all the involved countries on a European and international level. The work mobility opportunity will also have an impact locally, regionally, nationally as well as on a European and international level after the dissemination of the work placements results. Our Organization will be able to continue to satisfy the large number of students which expect to implement a part of their internship through their participation in an Erasmus+ project as it was happening the previous years. In the long term VET will reap the attractiveness of international work opportunities and the openness in EU.

#OpVETWBL in Europe is a VET learners mobility proposal involving training and work placements for four vocational fields which which suffer the most from the financial crisis in Greece:
- Renewable Energy field
- ΙT field
- Internal Decoration & Object Design field
- Cooking field
Which need a turning point in order to give a boost in the learners employability. The mobility involved 14 students of the Internal Decoration & Object Design field who completed a two-week work placement in companies of the private sector in Italy as interns to get specialization and work experience in their field. The students also attended advanced Italian University. It also involved 14 students of the IT field who completed a two-week work placement in companies of the private sector in Italy as interns to get specialization and work experience in their field.
Additionally, it involved 14 students from f the Cookery field who completed a two-week work placement in Restaurants of the private sector in Italy as interns to get specialization and work experience in their field alongside the lessons they attended for Molecular cuisine. Finally 14 students of the Renewable Energy field attended a two-week practical training in Italy concerning renewable energy resources which was aligned with today’s labor market needs according to the sector’s union recommendations which is considered a leader in renewable energy resources.
All groups received an informal one-week social and cultural preparation in Italy to enhance their intercultural and personal development and they were introduced to the new environment.
