Project Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Augmented Reality (AR) and mixed reality is starting to be widely used in various training and learning settings, like schools, universities, and workplaces. In a nutshell, AR is an enhanced reality that projects
computer-generated images over a user\u2019s view of the physical world, while mixed reality is the enhanced form of augmented reality that brings the best of both the worlds. Mixed reality is a relatively new technology that
encompasses virtual reality (VR) and AR. These new realities are based
on advancements in computer vision, graphical processing, display technologies, input systems, and cloud computing.
The effects of individual AR and mixed reality learning apps on learning performance in formal learning environments have been slowly being introduced in Europe in various higher educational institutions. However,
up to today we cannot find many examples in targeted countries, Albania and Israel, that are investing in the potential of these new realities for supporting learning at workplaces and for vocational education and training (VET).<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The project BIG ART is born out of the current cooperation between<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Thematic SAEK Egaleo (Former name DIEK Aigaleo), from the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs & Sport of Greece<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. ORT Braude VET School from Israel and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. VET Kolin Gjoka \/ MFDE. MINISTRIA E FINANCAVE DHE EKONOMIS\u00cb From Albania<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. MWAPP, an IT company from Italy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    This project brings added value and novelty to the VET sector in these two countries, their college faculty and students through intensive boot camp training that addresses the knowledge, design, and soft skills brought by
    Augmented and mixed Reality Technologies (ART) and provides an opportunity for ongoing dialogue with the industry, and current challenges faced in real-time.
    As part of the activities, bootcamps will be organised where lecturers will be trained in teaching a new technological field, requiring the use of AR\/VR while enhancing soft skills via the design of a virtual reality project. EU
    partners will define the intervention into a simulated workplace and real- world training setting and evaluate the usefulness, usability, and learning support of the AR technologies implemented by the participants. The
    students who take part in the bootcamps will be guided by lecturers in their department in each country with a course using augmented and mixed reality tools. They will participate in a concluding boot camp and student
    competition for planning a project in multi-departmental and multicultural teams. Outstanding participants will participate physically and others may participate via hybrid learning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
